I've had a look at the fabric calculator and I've just got another query if you don't mind. Do you include extra for a border on top of the 2" for finishing?

You can start in the middle or start in the upper left corner. Some people start in the lower right corner, it doesn't matter where you start. If you want to start in the upper left you have to know h ...
