I'm about to start the "Corbeille de Fleurs" which is, by far, the largest piece I've ever worked on.
Alot of people seem to break their pieces up into 10x10 or 20x20 squares. This seems like a great idea for organization and very much appeals to me.
My concern is...will the finished piece look like hundreds of little squares because of all the tiny seams along the edges of the squares? I'm especially concerned about those areas in the background where there are large areas of the same/similar colors - I suspect large vertical seams would show.
Have any of you who have stitched in the "square" method encountered this problem? Is it even a problem? Any solutions/tips? I would just hate to get a couple thousand stitches into something and then not be happy with it!
I use the 10x10 block method, but do not adhere to it completely. If there is a long row of the same color I will continue for 3 or 4 stitches into the next block. In sections where there are several rows extending, I vary the number of stitches into the next block so that I don't create a seam. Hope this helps.
