Congrats! Bless your heart for sticking with it. Now you can put it up, consider it a learning experience, and start on your next SQ pattern!

(I cant remember the last time I finished a xs project. My husband tells me I am GREAT at starting them... Embarassed )

Hi! I like the results when I work on 18 count, and have found the same problem with the thread falling apart. Sad

I have tried a couple of things to remedy this: I cut the thread into 18 inch pieces, so it doesn't get worn out by the end of the colour, and I use a 28 guage needle, which seems to go through the holes in 18 count material.

It doesn't always work, but has decreased the times I've had the thread wear out on me.

And I choose #18 Aida because I get those neat knobbly little knots!

It takes more care than on #14 to keep from splitting threads, but I don't need to fret with rail-roading for good coverage.

It seems that one person's blessing is another one's curse. Smile

Indeed Hibrida, I still haven't gotten over my traumatism from that 18-count aida!
