H and E and I have come to an understanding. Several in fact, one being, I will never stitch anything from them again. The other, I just recount more than I used to, which was already too much. And lastly, I have resigned myself to just work smaller sections at a time. I prefer a more expansive method generally. Also I wanted to mention, since you brought it up, that I know how they get the details without using blended needle stitches. I call it "scatter and blur." The end result is to use more individual colors than actually needed and you get a less-than-clear look to the finished piece. Not my favorite way to go. But I have to finish it now!

glad you found a way to work with it. Had a look at this site. Pretty pictures, but very big aren't they? Laughing about the "scatter and blur"
And I thought my SQ is big, eventhough it's a medium size..But from reading all about your pattern I don't envy you and I am very happy stitching mine!. Stitching

And yet, Alanna, somehow it's not. Big sigh.

Hello! I'm going to jump back to a topic earlier in this thread. I thought of something over the weekend about waste canvas I forgot to mention....after I finish a design using waste canvas & have pulled all the waste canvas threads out, I iron a patch of the hemming/mending stuff onto the inside of the shirt to protect the stitching. Then the item can be wash 'n wear like normal without worrying about the machines damaging the design. I don't know if anyone else does this but I know it works. I have a sweatshirt that is going on 15 years! The colors do eventually fade otherwise the stitches are as good as new. Stitching

What a fabulous idea for waste canvas!! I have a travel drive for cross stitch info, and this is definitely going on it. Yes, I confess, I hoard information. Computers are a Godsend for people like me.

I got "Ivy" over the weekend and have begun gridding fabric and trying to organize floss. For right now, I'm going to use bobbins and a divided plastic box. I've looked at other methods and may change later.

Rife asked earlier if I had a site for photos - I don't but will see about getting something together if you all want to look. I've got this cross stitch bug bad - wanted to stay home and stitch instead of work - then remembered the job pays for charts and floss. Very Happy

Happy Monday.

Regards,
Retha
