Gridding Question     Reply with quote

I've looked at the gallery photos (wow!!) and seen several pieces which were gridded. A website search revealed only 1 topic on gridding. Stitcher used a water soluble pen to grid her fabric.

I thought of using running stitches, so I could remove as I stitched near them. Any other ideas? What do you do?

Thanks and happy Friday!

Hey, Retha! On mine, I used plain old sewing thread and did the 10x10 in one color, and I also added the page demarcations with another color. As I get close to the threads, I pull them out for a short distance, but let them hang, so if I need to pull them back over to make sure where I am, I can. Once I have an area stitched, I trim the threads back.

Hope this made sense - it sounds right in my head Smile

Thanks - it makes perfect sense, and I'll use your system. I have two more briefs to cite check and edit, and then the weekend begins. I'm very excited about beginning my first SQ project (Ivy). I've spent the week running around (on the web) ordering supplies so I can begin tomorrow morning. On Monday will let you all know how it goes.
