Tami, can I ask you, if you modelled this frame on the Hearthside one, did you also achieve the spring-loaded hinge points for rotation of the scroll frame? And if not, what do you do in that department?

I think that worked...let me know if it did
Now thats a great floor stand . Well done girl. Alana you can do this too with a little help ! My aussie cheapie was bought at the local needle work shop.It came dismanteled made from pine cost about 25 dls 12 years ago . However I hardly use it. Get the universal one from the Fox Collection . Its great . Doesnt have all the gadgets that the other American ones have, Chart holder needle ray etc etc. But I sit near my dining room table anyway so its no problem . I clip my chart on my work with a bullclip . From office works ! Cheap as but pratical .

No I haven't figured out how to put the spring loaded gadget .....YET....LOL but give me a few and I will....but I do have it where it rotates over to work on the back...how I do that is with the spacer blocks you see in the pictures...I use carriage bolts and put a washer in between and tighten with wing nuts..the carriage bolt is squared and will hold ...will send a picture so you can see what I'm talking about...

Hi Tami
Rotating is good enough for me. You are extremely clever.
I wish I could do something like that

And you can make one off these too Allana with a little help. But if you want a practical flloorstand that doesnt cost the earth . Just under $100 buy the universal from the Fox collection. They charge about $8 freight and its a quick delivery . You can ordr online WWW.thefoxcollection.com.au ( I think from memory
The only bad thing about them is that they dont like heavy frames. As I use qsnaps that is not a problem for me .

Thank you for that information, Trudie. I do receive the Fox Collection catalogue and have often oggled at the Universal floor stand ( it's quite similar to Hearthside's Original floor stand), but wondered how it would handle a really big scroll frame (which is what I'll need for my SQ), and how easy it would be to flip your work over to work on the back. It's so good having insider information!

It will flip Allana . I have my Sistine Chapel on it at the moment on large Qsnap. The size of that is 800w X 283h and the 14 ct aida is fabric 60 inches x 36 inches so a pretty fair size . It copes well with that but you wouldnt want to go larger .

Trudie Ps have you ever used 32 ct Irish linen ???
