I've started a photo album of my Ehret project. I haven't done much yet as I seem to spend all my time either working or busy with my daughter's wedding plans. I would love to take a couple of weeks off everything and just stitch and stitch.

Great progress, Lisa! You've got a good start on it and I can see you've already done all your gridding.

Keep us posted!

Nice start! Don't you love to begin a new project? It's my favorite part. Also, those pictures are wonderful (the stitching is great, obviously), very clear. What are you using to take your photgraphs with? And how difficult was it to set up this "Muliply" page?

Hi. thanks for your kind comments. Julie, I used a digital camera to take the pix, but I set it for close-up portrait mode. It doesn't flash on that function but seems to lighten the picture very well. I've had the camera for years. I bought it for our holiday in New York in 2004.

The Multiply page was easy. Someone on another forum I visit was selling some charts so I signed up to view them. Uploading photos is simple enough.

Trudie, I bought a floorstand to hold the project really for when it gets unmanageable to hold. I'm still debating whether or not to use a scroll frame though. The size of the project is putting me off using such a big frame (36" wide) as I've never used a frame before.

Oh, confession time: I haven't gridded it all, just the first six pages. Embarassed That's another reason for the hoop as I think it would be easier to grid loose fabric. Maybe the more experienced among you would know better?

Lisa, You made a good start! Very Happy
Confession time, I gridded just a 1/4 of the pattern and didn't do the rest, so far so good. But I think gridding may be easier when the fabric isn't tight, but hey, don't know, there could be other oppinions from the other stitchers.
Good luck with your daughters weddingplans, love happy occasions!
Happy Stitching

Hi Lisa ,

Can you tell me the name of your floorstand ? Would it take a Qsnap ?

Cheers

It's called the Posilock floor stand, made by Elbesee.

I don't know if it will take Qsnaps as I've never seen them. But you can buy an attachment for the stand called "Helping Hand" which extends the width of the clamps (I think)

Great start, Lisa - I sent you an invitation on Multiply, so I can keep up with any updates you post! I want to follow your progress on this piece, since I'm not brave enough to do it myself Smile

For anyone interested in Multiply, I absolutely love mine - it's the most user-friendly blog I have (and I have a few) - you can post pictures, links, a blog (journal) with pics & links, and you can limit who sees it if you'd like.
