Gee, it's absolutely smashing, Christine!! Wow for the progress and it also sounds like you're really enjoying it, and that's worth more than all the progress in the world! Keep it up, I love seeing your updates! Very Happy Stitching

Thanks Alanna - it is great fun and utterly addictive. Although I have come to a grinding halt as I am waiting on a pair of hobby spectacles further to a visit to the optician today. I am under strict instructions not to sew until I get them as I have been straining my eye muscles (even with reading glasses, magnifying glass and 2 x daylight light bulbs!).

I'll be back on the needles later next week Laughing

That's a bummer, Christine. I know what you mean. I too have been brought to a grinding halt in my stitching (it would have been a screeching halt except that I was already moving very VERY slowly Wink ). As some of you know, I have been working on a massive massive project these past five months which had me working EVERY weekend during that time. Well, I have just finished it, Thursday last week to be precise, and the relief is immense. But the consequences of working like that for such a long period are that I now have quite a severe RSI in my right hand (frequent mouse users beware!), to the point where it is extremely painful even to hold a glass and impossible to work with a needle. I'm absolutely devastated of course because I was so looking forward to the end of this job so I could get back into my stitching. So now I have the time, but not the hands!!! Rest is the only thing for it. I reckon maybe a week with no hand activity at all, and then ease slowly back into using it again, but am certainly swapping the mouse to my left hand! In other news, I have received my next SQ pattern and am busily stocking up on bobbins and new boxes etc. Might wait until after the christmas pandemonium to buy the floss though and hope to god for a sale - I'll need to buy around 150 skeins, and at $1.50 each that's a pretty penny!

Anyway, will keep you posted. (sorry to hijack your thread, Christine!!) Surprised

Alanna

I really feel for you and hope to goodness that your RSI goes away very soon. SQ patterns are very addictive aren't they Shocked . Coming off the needles has made me realise I really did fit the housework around the stitching Embarassed and so I really need to improve the balance somewhat Laughing

Enjoy your preparations (both SQ and Christmas!)

Very Happy

Love - Christine

Holy cow!!! Glad you finally got it done, but so sorry to hear it's put you out of commission for a while!!! Make sure you MAKE YOURSELF take the time to rest it properly - if you think you're good, then push it too far, you'll be right back at the beginning.

Sounds like a great opportunity to get caught up on lots of reading!!!

You're absolutely right, Rife. I will try very very hard to rest it properly (even though the whole damn thing just makes me furious), and take the oppportunity to catch up on lots and lots of reading. It's also pretty hot and sticky weather we're having here at the moment (my 4th summer in 2 years!!) so I guess it's not ideal stitching time anyway... Sad

It'd be great to talk.

Hi Patricia, welcome to the gang!

I see you have Ehret from one of your other posts; do you have any idea when you will be starting it?

See here: http://divecat.multiply.com/photos/album/2/Ehret_die_Frauen for my updates

Best wishes - Christine
