Hi to all. I just joined, but I have been watching (and buying) for a few years. I belong to the Embroidery Guild of America. Learning lots of new stitches and technique, but cr.st. is still my favorite. Love looking at the pieces in progress. Carol Tutt's Jacob and Rachel just blew my mind. Will it ever get finished?? wow!! I usually have a dozen or so on the go at once. I suspect I am not the only one. Starting a new piece is always more exciting than finishing one..but some do get finished.

Welcome Patricia. I'm with you, love the starting, have a tough time with the finish. And I too, usually have more than one project going at once. But with the big SQ and similar pieces I try to over-ride my natural inclinations and power on through. (Mostly because they have been for someone else, and that someone would like it done!)

Hi Patricia, welcome!
I know, starting is so much more fun than finishing (or at least, the middle part is a struggle). Especially in SQ patterns I think, because they are so big. I mean, it will be an accomplishment to finish one page, only to find you have 53 more to go.... doesn't feel like progress.
You almost need multiple projects at once, though I think I can't handle multiple huge projects... I am going to do small ones to take my mind of things

I love starting too, but you just can't beat a finish for an overwhelming sense of achievement!
