Is anyone else working on Ehret die Frauen at present, apart from me and Lisa? If so, let us know and we can swap hints and tips for this piece.

It'd be great to talk.

Not me, but if I keep seeing your WIPs, I think I will be highly tempted to at least add it to the stash Smile

I'm still lurking around. I've just restarted my Ehret because I was really struggling with the 18-count fabric (I don't know how others work on 22 count etc). I think the combination of confetti stitches and blends didn't help. I bought some 14-count aida and started again on Friday (24th) I've done about 1200 stitches so far. I did decide to limit it to around 200 per day but I've put in a bit of a spurt. I've probably stitched as much in four days as I did in four months.

Anyway, it feels much better stitching it on the 14 count. The stitched area doesn't feel as stiff and bulky as with the 18. I'm actually enjoying it, which is the whole idea of cross-stitching. And I'm working much more methodically and putting it down when I feel tired or bored with an area. I've also decided not to grid the fabric as this gave me the excuse to move away from where I was stitching and do a bit further on, with the possibility of causing problems later on especially if I miscount.

I have to thank Christine (Divecat) for her inspiration. Looking at her photos on Multiply made me realise how much I wanted to complete this design.

Well done, Lisa!! That's just marvellous that you've picked it up again and found a way for this piece to be enjoyable for you again! Afterall, that's all that counts, we don't stitch for any other reason. Wow, what an amazing amount of work you've done in such a short space of time! I don't know how you do it! After about three hours I get itchy feet and have to go and do something else, usually, unless I'm on a really good run! We'll be anxiously looking forward to some photos of your progress! Bravo! Very Happy

Lisa, am so glad you started again on fabric, which you enjoy stitching, and you did sooo much in sooo little time!!
Don't understand how others stitch on 22ct, for sure in my case, my eyes don't like it, working on 18ct I do use magnifyers and they are a big help.
But my son moved to his own little apartment and he just loved the Sunrise of Monet, eventhough I love to stitch on evenweave, decided to stitch like you on 14ct aida, and for sure works great Very Happy
So can't wait to see any updates from you!
Happy Stitching and enjoy!!

I've posted some photos of my work on my Multiply site. http://lisar27.multiply.com/photos/album/10/Ehret

This is just over three weeks work and about 6000 stitches. I got the standard size pattern which has 7200 stitches per (full) page. I hope to finish the page by next week; that will be a real milestone! Stitching
