I finished the Waterhouse My Sweet Rose pattern a few months ago, and here she is (hopefully, if I can get the photo posting thing down):

The only problem is that Meredith has done such a wonderful job, everyone seems to think it is a painting!

It took about 16 months to finish, with this being my only project at the time. Was soooo ready to be done at the end! I think it kind of broke me of that habit, and thanks to Rifestitch, I have developed a small Chatelaine addiction as well. I started Sun and Moon Flowers right after finishing My Sweet Rose, but I also have Chatelaine's Desert on the go as well. I think this is a dangerous slippery slope! [/img]

That is a WONDERFUL finish!!! Congrats on a great piece!

Good luck with that new addiction Smile I'm collecting Desert, but it's way down the road - Secret Victorian Garden is my next Chatelaine start, then Tuscany Smile

You gotta be careful, Rife will drag us all over to the dark side of having multiple projects sooner or later... Laughing Laughing Laughing

I love My Sweet Rose and I happen to have a print of it framed on my wall! I think of all the pre-Raphs Waterhouse produced the best paintings (stepping back for other opinions to surface Wink ). Your finished article looks absolutely fabulous - well done.

Good luck on your next project.

This is truly beautiful Lani. You must be so proud to have that on your wall. I'm so happy for you!

I know what you mean about a budding obsession with chatelaines, I'm resisting resisting myself, but it's only a matter of time... Twisted Evil

Thanks, Alanna! It is great to see it on the wall, and it inspires me to continue with my new SQ.

Stay away from the Chatelaines for as long as you can! They are really, really addictive. The truth is, I think I enjoy collecting the Chatelaines mainly for the stash. The silks are so pretty! I've never really worked with them, but they are wonderful. Plus, I like working on linen. I know I can stitch the SQs on linen, but I think I would go insane. I do carry my threads a little, and I have nightmares about miscounting on the linen. I know I shouldn't carry them too much, but I can't help it. I'm lazy. Rolling Eyes The linen is fantastic to stitch on, though, so it's probably only a matter of time that I do an SQ on it. I have SQ's Down on His Luck, and I just may have to attempt linen for that one!

Are you still working on your Down on His Luck (weather permitting)? Very Happy

Oooooooooooooohh Lani you just HAVE to do Down on His Luck!!!! Then we can do a SAL!!!! Of course I'll be ten shades of jealous because my pattern is Fiona Jude not SQ (even though I do have the SQ pattern, I'd already started the other one) and there's going to be a massive difference in quality. But like I said elsewhere the next best thing to doing a pattern you love yourself is seeing someone else on this forum do it! That would be so great! Razz
