Sun and Moon Flowers first row     Reply with quote

After four months, I have the first row of Sun and Moon Flowers finished! Laughing

The funny thing is, IRL the "3-D" aspect does not show up like it does in the photo. I'm hoping that as more of the pattern is completed, the depth perspective will change. Either that, or I have been staring at this for way too long! I really do love this piece, though. I'm excited to get to the second woman and some other colors than browns and yellows! It looks like I have the biggest portion of background done.

Sorry about the size, I haven't figured out how to make it larger in the post. If you click on the picture, it should take you to the Webshots page and a larger picture. Hopefully?

Thanks everyone! I really, really like working on this piece. There is so much going on.

Patricia - I know what you mean about not being able to decide between patterns. I really like the colors in Ehret and in Daybreak, Arizona reminds me of my my previous life in the Southwest, your Chocoloate Pot is looking great, and it goes on and on .... Of course, the real problem is finding enough time to fit it all in!

Rifestitch - No way can you feel slow - you finish waaay more projects than me! I just flog myself until I finish a project, no matter what! Wink I'm using 22 count for Sun and Moon. This is the first time I've used it - on some days I love it and think it looks great. On other days, not so much. We'll see!

I am trying to finish The Canoe from Rick's Charts. Yes, I want to start Ehret, and perhaps I will get Daybreak and Sweet Rose and/or Tea and/or Flowers with my gift certificate..and then of course I have ordered the TW book of patterns and have a bid on a TW kit on ebay. Someone is selling it because she needs to downsize her stash and couldn't do it all if she live to be 101. Now, I ask you, is that any reason to downsize?? oh.. oh perhaps it is one of you that is selling it. Sad I can't do them all, but I can start many and then choose which one to work on. Sometimes I spent a month on one, sometimes a day. I am not discil[plined now that I am retired. I do spend time just lookng..and figuring.. that is enjoyable too.

Planning & prepping before the first stitch goes in is half the fun to me Smile But then, I'm weird that way Evil or Very Mad One of my pals HATES to start (can't even imagine what that's like) - I've offered to start any number of things for her, but only if she sends it all to me in the bags from the store, so I can do the organizing!

More beautiful work, Lani, you put me to shame! I am once again stuck in a filthily hot Australian summer and I can barely think let alone stitch! I was definietly not born to be Australian, I was so much more at home in Russia!
Oh well, only another 4 months of this to go! Rolling Eyes
