I was curious to know if people here do other things besides cross stitch? I used to do needlepoint but it seemed to involve a lot of hard decisisions about what color a stitch should be (at boundaries). I have a UFO sampler (stamped, partly cross stitch, now I just have long-and-short stitch to go which I hate). I've been working on it SO long that I can't remember any more who gave it to me. Right now I'm doing a little hardanger just for a change. I have done a lot of crewel in the past and someday want to try that raised kind, stump work I think it's called. The very first needlework I ever did was embroidering pillow slips, and my they were ugly. So glad that needlework doesn't have to be "useful" anymore!

I did a lot of needlepoint in the 70s, and tried crewel work but didn't really like the look of it. I've done "regular" embroidery and hardanger and petit point and punch work... but I always come back to cross-stitch. One thing I haven't done is ribbon embroidery.
I also have done needlepoint but I am very black and white and need to know where the stitch should go. I thought I was the only one. I love crewel but, have not found patterns that I would like to do. It would be nice if there was something of the quality of Scarlet Quince.
I have not stitched in nearly a month due to work. I can not wait for vacation. I am going to drink coffe in front of my fireplace and watch the birds feed while I stitch.
