Floss Card Sticker Suggestion     Reply with quote

There are SO many blended threads in your patterns - something that makes them have such lovely texture and smooth coloring. That's one of the things that attracted me to SQ.

BUT

When working a pattern, I find myself having to make cards based on symbol quite often. I will blend 2 threads for just 10 or so stitches, and then I need to put it aside for later...

Since I use floss cards (as I am sure many do), I find myself trying to draw the symbols on the tab of the card. Some are easy, like numbers, squares, etc - but some are hard. Ever try to draw a tiny "bomb"?

It would be really cool if SQ could get stickers printed up with the symbols - just big enough to put on a floss card. They are small enough you could put a whole lot of them on a sheet, organized in the same manner they are organized in the patterns. You could sell the sticker sheets separately, or as an add-on to a pattern purchase.

Whaddya think?

Hey, I like that idea, too. Include a sticker sheet with each pattern book?

I keep my floss in those little floss keeper zip lock bags. More space to draw and/ or write. I use permanent marker, but it comes off with rubbing alcohol.

But, the ones I have for my solid colors have the DMC number sticker on them. When did my handwriting get so horrible?

My handwriting went sometime during college... when speed became more important than form. Sad

Still... I cant draw those little weird symbols... like the one that looks like a cloud with a lightning bolt coming out of it... or maybe it's a tornado?

Something else I've done:

I threw the symbols page on a copier and then cut out the symbols and color numbers and taped them to my little baggies. I guess I could have enlarged them. Maybe next time.

It is something that we thought about idly once - I wasn't sure how many people would be interested. We may look into this more. Thanks for all your thoughts on the subject! (I think it's a tornado.)
