I'd love to do this one -- I think the detail on the kimono and the fans on the wall would be great fun to stitch.

That is nice, but a bit busy with all the fans in the background. I think it would look better without them (just the plain blue wall showing). Maybe, you could give us both options, Meredith?

The fans are actually one of my favorite things LOL! I tend to get bored with backgrounds and I think they'd keep me amused.

But you know, it could be interesting with just the figure being stitched -- you could get some beautiful hand-dyed fabric to stitch her on. Could be very pretty, and certainly much quicker to get done than with all the fans and background.

Yep, she looks like a lot of fun alright... although not quite my colour scheme...

I'm also one to avoid boring backgrounds when choosing a new pattern- if I get too lax with stitching big blocks of colour then that's when I make mistakes!

My goodness the new patterns keep piling in don't they? Meredith must really be very busy on them what with all this cold weather. Still hopeful for my sugestion though ( Wink ).

This picture is already on our list of suggestions but I'm adding your name to the list of suggestors - we are now keeping track of everybody who suggests a picture in case the original person can't be reached.

This seems like a very atypical Monet. I looked it up and it was a pretty early work. This was his first wife who died young.

I actually thought it looked more like a Renoir than a Monet!
