Page lines not printing     Reply with quote

I just tried out the Fixed Scale View with the gridlines and page lines.A problem came when I tried to print the picture. Sad The first two vertical red page lines printed for only about an inch down from the top of the picture, then stopped. No horizontal red lines, no red page numbers printed. The picture and black gridlines printed. Am I doing something wrong? How do I get the red page lines and numbers to print?

Maybe it's your printer? Could you be out of red ink?

No, all ink cartridges are full and the picture printed out with all colors looking fine, just the red page lines missing.

I just tried it again, but did a print preview before printing. The page lines do not show up in the preview.

I get just the black grid - no picture, no red lines, and it cuts off on the right (because of course I did the big Lady & Unicorn Smile ).

I'm using Firefox 3.5.2.

Once you have the Printable View of your picture, go to File>Page Setup. In the Format & Options tab, under Options check the box that says Print Background (color & images). That will give you the picture. But it won't give me the red lines. (Mine is Ambrosius Bosschaert's Vase of Flowers in a Window Niche Smile ).

Yep, have the picture w/black grid, but no page markings, either. I forgot the "print background" setting, since I am usually printing docs at work, so don't ever use it Smile

I did bother to flip it to landscape, but even though I told it to fit to page, it didn't - cut off on right and bottom, and then the top portion repeated on page 2, and pages 3-5 were blank... Will try later with something a bit smaller Smile

Arghhh...How embarrassing and frustrating! This was working at one point! (Really) I will have it fixed soon.

It basically works now. Give it a try and let me know if you have any more problems. (When I say "basically", I mean that you get strange results if you are printing a large pattern and don't shrink it enough so that it fits on one page. Also, in IE, print and print preview reverse the foreground and background colors on the page numbers. I may be able to spiff these things up a little more. Or I may not. It's kind of a miracle that it works at all. Originally it was much simpler, and much more robust, but then I thought it would be nice if users had control of the colors... always tinker, tinker, tinker.) I'm looking for an emoticon that indicates my brain is fried and don't see one ... how did I overlook that?
