In Stitches!!     Reply with quote

Now here's a funny story (that may well just have you in stitches)...

I would just like to start by saying that this is not at all my usual deal, I'm usually a very good girl Rolling Eyes

The other night, hubby and I were finishing up dinner and heading off to our various liesure activities in our usual state of domestic bliss, except that I had had a few glasses of wine with dinner (and by a few I do mean only a few). And when I stood up to take the dishes out I noticed that my head was a little dizzier than I expected it to be... hmmm, I thought, must have downed those a little too quickly. And then by the time I got over to my stitching chair, I really did need to sit down!

So I picked up my needle, and I couldn't feel it between my fingers, in fact I dropped it, several times! My goodness I thought, this is all rushing to my head rather fast. I started stitching but kept on missing my hole! I was absolutely drunk out of skull on a few glasses of rosť! Every time I would try and place my needle correctly in the fabric it would go veering off to the side and I just started laughing and laughing and laughing until I thought I was going to fall off my chair! Hubby came over to see what the commotion was and found me with tears streaming down my cheeks declaring that I was too drunk to sew! And then we just sat there and laughed ourselves silly until our sides hurt. Very Happy

It was the funniest stitching episode I've had to date! Moral of the story: a glass or two of rosť may be good for the soul, but not so for the stitching!

(Note to self: steer away from the vino when needlework is required, either that or hit the bottle and forget about the stitching!) Laughing

Yes, it wasn't bad at all Wink It was a Rosť d'Anjou.

Ah, see, I can't drink wine - gives me an instant headache. Vodka, on the other hand, makes confetti stitching go ever so much quicker... Smile

OMG... too funny!

I've been frustrated at the end of a long day - I finally get to my chair so I can do some stitching... but I've been working so HARD to get everything else done first I've no energy - and sometimes cant even keep my eyes open - to stitch.

Last time that happened, I just wanted to cry!

My husband, love that he is, took my work from me and put it away. Then, he took my hand and told me he had an idea of something we could do that didn't require concentration OR clear eyesight! Twisted Evil

(Probably TMI, but I've been wanting to share that story with SOMEONE for years... Very Happy)

HHHMMM, that never happens in my house - he's asleep in the recliner right now with that &%$# Fox Soccer Channel on, and I'm on the 'puter when I ought to be brushing my teeth and settling in with my book for a bit, before the new, and boring, work week begins. Only because I've worked on a bookmark all day today and my hands are pooped from holding it. Sure am spoiled by my floor stand (which looks dumb with a 3" hoop in it, though I have done it Smile )
