WIP Update - Lady & Unicorn     Reply with quote

I have made some progress on my L&U since it was added to the gallery, but not enough to add it to the gallery.

I have relegated this project to primarily a weekend project; most nights after work and after I get the house fed, watered, and out of my hair, I'm too burnt to work on this design, as parking really requires all of my attention. So I have my other, less labor-intensive projects for during the week, and keep this BAP for the weekends. Though, sadly, I haven't had much time for any stitching lately.

If you'd like to see, I have updates in two places - Webshots photos and my Multiply blog:

http://community.webshots.com/user/krife4 - in it's own album
http://rifestitch.multiply.com/ - go to Photos, its own album, too

What's everyone else working on, and do you have pics out there somewhere???

Lady an Unicorn is looking beautiful. You can already see how rich it's going to look. It makes me really want to start my SQ (Durer's owl) but I've got to Christmas stockings I promised my girls I'd make to do first. At least school starts next week and I'll have more stitching time!

I'm working on de Heem's Vase With Flowers (DHE001), but I don't know where to post pics. It's really slow going since we moved home from China. I thought it would go faster now that I have a stand to hold the frame, but I just can't give myself permission to sit down and sew like I used to.

I know what you mean -- my girls started school four days ago and I thought I'd be able to stitch the days away. I haven't picked up a needle once!

Maybe today.

I haven't touched a needle in days! Well, that's not true - I've touched a beading needle the last couple of days, because I had a bead project stranded on the dining room table for a couple of weeks now (okay 4 weeks), so I figured I'd better get it done, since I just got new turquoise nuggets and pearls the other day for another project. The great thing about beading, is I can work for a couple of minutes in between turing burners on/off, stirring, putting stuff in the oven, etc. Stitching is a little harder to do in 2-3 minute stretches, and the couch is farther away from the kitchen than the dining room table.

This coming 3-day weekend, I fully intend to make up for some lost time. And I have yet to get a clasp for the turquoise/pearl project, so I'm almost stopped on it, anyway.

Well, I'm sick and I thought that there could be no possible better excuse to do some stitching, but I haven't even had a chance to look at it- I'm too sick!
Crying or Very sad ain't those just the breaks?

I know how you feel; I had a terrible head cold a couple of weeks ago - summer colds are the worst, aren't they? - and had to take a day off of work and everything. I was too sick to even think about stitching. I spent 3 days staring blankly at the tv, between naps. Crying or Very sad

If you have digital photos, email them to us and we will put them in the gallery.

Hey, all - just wanted to mention my curent update to Lady & Unicorn; I am almost at the 5% mark, after a great week with it in rotation this week. If you'd care to look, see the links above, look for the one dated 02-18!

It's looking really good, Rife, they're so many colours in there- that's some pretty hard-core parking you're doing!
Well done and keep it up!! Stitching
