Maybe it is fun to post our wishlists here, to see what everybody is (wishfully) planning for a future stitch. Mine is, at the moment:

- Miyamoto Musashi Killing a Giant Nue (for my partner, who is a big fan of Japan)
- The Accolade - Edmund Blair-Leighton (I love the romantic image of the middle ages)
- The Unicorn in Captivity (I love medieval tapestries)
- Ehret die frauen (See above, even though it is 19th century, still in the spirit of medieval art)
- The Castle (detail) (Again an tapestry)
- The Virgin in Prayer - Sassoferrato (Beautiful image, even though I am not a cathollic, small and simple)
- The Arnolfini Marriage - Jan van Eyck (Lovely renaissance painting
- Feather - Alphonse Mucha (I also love art nouveau, especially Mucha).

Realistically I won't do more than one or two of these, but hey, one can always dream Very Happy

Hiya Divinenanny and welcome to SQ.

I am currently working on Ehret die Frauen (along with Lisa R) (see my pics on www.divecat.multiply.com) and doing about 3-4 hours a day I think it's still going to take 3-4 years(!) to complete as it is quite large.

Utterly addictive though Laughing

My wishlist includes Flora, goddess of the garden. Like you I enjoy the medieval period but I also like it depicted in pre-Raphelite and Arts and Crafts (which is what Ehret die Frauen is) styles.

Happy setting up of your piece and send us lots of pictures!

Stitching Christine

Oh, dear, I think my wishlist is going to be a bit embarrassing - it's impossibly long, but still, it's not as long as Rife's lust list!!

Okay, here goes:

All the lady & the unicorn patterns (already have a mon seul desir - next in line!)
Unicorn in captivity
Cluny tapestry rabbit
Gentle music of a bygone day (present)
Musashi killing a giant nue (present)
Whistlejacket
A musical angel (present)
Midsummer eve (present)
Silver
Flaming June
The great trees
Dancing bears
Angel
The great wave
The baleful head
Carnation, lily, lily, rose (present)
Sense of sight
Lady of Shalott

Pretty bad huh???? I know I'll never get all of these done, but I'm going to do my darndest to get as many as humanly possible in my lifetime done! The thing is I know that Meredith is wickedly going to keep adding things to her range that I won't be able to stop myself from adding to this list!! Wicked woman Twisted Evil

Hi! I've not posted here before, but I've been reading for a while... but this topic begged for a reply, especially since I've been wondering if anyone else had as long of a wish list as I...

Dignity and Impudence - Sir Edwin Landseer
Ehret die Frauen - Marianne Stokes
A Young Hare - Albrecht Durer
Stitching the Standard - Edmund Blair-Leighton
Heliodore's Woodstar and a Pink Orchid - Martin Johnson Heade
Windflowers - John William Waterhouse
Vine - John Henry Dearle
Dragon - Aubrey Beardsley
Queen Guinevere's Maying - John Collier
Winter, Spring, Summer, and Autumn - Alphonse Mucha
Passion Flowers and Hummingbirds - Martin Johnson Heade
Heraldic Chivalry - Alphonse Mucha
Sunrise, Yosemite Valley - Albert Bierstadt
Ipomoea - John La Farge
The Old Hunting Grounds - Worthington Whittredge
Birds and Snowy Berry Branches - Ohara Shoson
All is Vanity - Charles Allan Gilbert
The Torn Hat - Thomas Sully
Medea - Evelyn De Morgan
Oeillets et Clematites dans un Vase de Cristal - Edouard Manet
The Unicorn in Captivity (detail)
The Hay Loft - Rosa Brett
Haystacks (Effect of Snow and Sun) - Claude Monet
Haystacks, End of the Summer, Morning - Claude Monet
Kissing the Face of God - Morgan Weistling

They're in no particular order, since I've "wish-listed" them as I found them. And since I'm working on two right now - Heade's Hummingbird and Apple Blossoms and Beard's Dancing Bears - it's going to be a while until I can order any...

... but as of right now, "Kissing the Face of God" is sure looking gorgeous...

Smile Cheers!

That's quite a list Laurelin! Dancing bears is on my wishlist too, do you have any piccies of your progress???
Smoky Mountains, that sounds like a nice place, I myself come from the Blue Mountains, and I think I'm thrown into nostalgic reveries at the mention of any kind of mountains, particularly ones with poetic names!

Kissing the Face of God does look gorgeous....went straight to my wish list. I'm trying to show restraint by doing 1 of the 2 charts I have at home waiting vs. ordering more that are on my wish list. If I couild just stitch faster (or at least not have to work, take care of the family, dog, house, etc.) Laughing

Hello folks I'm new around here and was glad when I found this topic because I wondered what the wish list does, I thought maybe if I had a wish list I'd be obligated to order right away but from what I read here it looks like I can keep a check on favourites I'd like to have! I think maybe my list will get quite long, theres so many to choose from! Very Happy

I don't have any pictures of Dancing Bears right now, since I'm working rather diligently on Apple Blossoms right now... I'm trying to complete it by the middle of March, for my grandmother's birthday.

The Smoky Mountains are a wonderful place to live... I feel blessed to be surrounded by the beauty of this place on a daily basis. Very Happy
