quote:Originally posted by Divecat Alanna - my Needle Needs scroll kit came today. The wood is absolutely beautful and wonderfully smooth. The scroll bars themselves are a solid 1.5" in diameter - no fear of these bowing I think! The delivery was excellent as well - I spoke to them yesterday and it was on my doorstep this morning - how's that for service!
Wow, they sound absolutely wonderful! What did you say the length of them was? Let us know how they go once you've got your work mounted and if you can get the tension you need. Are they the kind where you have to baste your fabric onto the dowels? Let us know!
My mistake, the scroll bars are 1.25" across not 1.5.
You don't have to baste the fabric (thank goodness because I end up bending needles and stabbing myself ). You put the fabric over the slot which runs the length of the bar, press down with a card to insert the fabric and then run a thin dowel down the length of the bar to hold the fabric in. Then you tighten it by way of the screw sidebars (which I think is absolutely ingenious!). Here is their website so you can have a look around: http://www.needleneeds.co.uk/millenium/index-millen.html
Christine, those frames do sound ingenious indeed! I hate basting fabric onto frames. Good luck with Stretch, he's a gorgeous little dragon isn't he? I'm currently nearing the completion of a much larger TW dragon (which I've been working on for a very long time). I can't wait to get to the decorative border! Speaking of which, Rife have you finished your triptych yet? Get a move on, girl!

Not yet - it comes up in rotation next week, so nobody's getting dinner or anything else next week - I'm busy!!! I'm working on The Castle this week, and am down to the last 1/3, but since I thought it would be cool to add the metallics to the dragon, that last 1/3 is going to take me as long as the other 2 did. But hopefully, by the end of this year, that'll be done, too.... And a friend of mine in Israel just finished English Garden Sampler - the one with the peacocks!! That will be my next TW piece, but it will be a while - my Chatelaine is going in Triptych's spot

I have Knotgarden all ready to go. I also have the 5th Anniversary sampler, but no fabric picked for it, and Mystery X Secret Victorian Garden and Medieval Town Mandala are both being kitted a bit at a time. In fact, I need to remember to grab Knotgarden in the morning and bring it in to get my working copies made, just in case I get Triptych done over the weekend and am able to start its replacement The castle in Triptych was completed last night, so all I have now is to get the frame done (hoping it meets in the middle ), wash it, get the beads on. I can't wait!!!!!

I worked on L&U a few weeks back, but I didn't get enough stitches in that week to warrant an update. It comes back out week after next - hope to finally finish page 2, which is fitting since it's almost the end of Year 2

Sounds so exciting!!! (why wasn't I alerted to the presence of this post earlier??? grrrrr) I'm coming up towards border time on my TW too, but first I have to finish the half stitches and metallics. I'm getting so impatient to finish it!!!!
