Thanks, Rife and Alanna.

Alanna: Actually, I leave the threads at the front. I tried leaving them at the back, but kept catching them in my stitching, so that didn't work.

What you see, besides the threads for parking, are the waste knots I use when starting a colour. There are so many confetti stitches that the back was getting too thick, so I put a knot a few stitches away on the front, and trim it as I get to that space. The back is still a mess, and can get thick at times, but this works as well as anything I've tried.

Thanks again for your encouragement. I took me six months to get this far..hope the rest goes more quickly!!

Yes, I'm still here...and still working on The Young Gardener. I have it on a scroll, so haven't taken any pictures....but have only 20 more rows to do and it will be finished. It's taken me 3 1/2 years to get this far, but I still enjoy it!

Hopefully, I will finish it in 2 months at least, then I will share a full picture of it.

Happy Stitching to everyone. Stitching

Wow Nancy, you're almost finished!! Time goes by doesn't it? I've taken a big break from stitching and my Lady and Unicorn is barely more complete than when I first started at the beginning of the year. I recently started a new birth sampler for a friend's baby, and although it's obviously a lot simpler than my SQ projects it has reminded me just how pleasurable it is to sit down in the evenings with a cup of tea, pick up your stitching and let your mind drift.
I've been working on a rather more significant project this year, and it's almost complete: I'm five weeks away from having my first baby!! It's a very exciting time and I fantasize about all the wonderful cross stitches I want to hang in its room. I just have to do them first!

Lovely to hear from you and good luck with finishing The Young Gardener. Send us some photos when you're done!

Not nearly as much as you do now! My advice with new baby is nap when the baby naps. But I did do quite a bit of stitching after my first baby was born. (He is 21 now!) Enjoy your last few weeks of pregnancy, and every precious minute with your new little one!

Hi Alanna,

It's been quite some time since I've logged on..but wanted to wish you all the best! How wonderful...your first baby. Mine is now 9 yrs old! I remember how I decided to relish eery minute and do all the typical new mama things - I'm so happy that I did that!

Dear Alanna Hope all goes well and that you are able to enjoy every momert with you child. It might seem overwhelming in the begining but after you blink a couple of times you will be a grandmother. My 3rd grandson Jacob was born not to long ago and I am not that old. Will say a prayer for you.
