I was wondering how Christine (Divecat) was, too, so I sent off an e-mail to her. She is currently in Spain, taking care of some family matters, but told me that there was some thievery going on in Croydon, which is in their vicinity, but otherwise, they were well and safe.

I hope all of our other UK members are safe and that there are no lasting effects once this is done & over with. The news reports I've seen were looking a little V is For Vendetta-ish!

Thanks, Karen.
There was a little looting and damage in Leicester, my nearest city, but it all seems to have settled down to the finger-pointing stage now across the UK.

Since football started up again this weekend, as the Premier League games were being broadcast from London and other areas, they supplied a few updates (I live with a rabid Chelsea fan, while I suddenly find myself rooting for Liverpool - specifically, Andy Carroll Smile )

Too much youth with too much time on their hands, IMO; I hope no one here gets any ideas... I hope they get it all sorted out, not that you can do much with a mob.

Hi everyone

Thank you for your kind thoughts - I must admit it was a shock when it all kicked off and started spreading round the country. I agree with you Karen - too much time on their hands - bring back national service, or somesuch.

I must admit though, after the heat and humidity of Spain (40C in the day, 25C at night Shocked), it is good to be back in Old Blighty!

Love to you all

Christine x
