Coffee Break Time!     Reply with quote

I have had a heck of a 2 weeks! If it wasn't for my ladies at church (none who stitch sadly), and spending money on Amazon I might have gone crazy!

I just came here hoping to chat with some cross stitching ladies about what's going on in thier cross stitching time.

Right now, I only have one WIP (Footprints), and I just hit the halfway mark. I had a heartbreaking moment when I went in to work on it one night and realized one of my children colored on with a Hilighter. Then I decided, Meh, my Grandma will think its a good thing. It's not a "work of art" by any stretch of the imagination, so 2 or 3 hilighter streaks that will be covered up with stitches and maybe even come out when I wash it will be ok.

Rife, I just wanted to say, I look at your multiply site once a week just to admire the beautiful designs you have done in the past and your WIP's. What's your favorite one you are working on right now?

Divecat, I looked at your progress on Ehret and it is gorgeous! How often do you get to work on it? I have you to thank for adding it to my wishlist (for WAYYYY down the road of course Laughing !

Armywife, do you have a site where you post pictures of WIP's? I would love to see what you are working on!

Barb, what's your big project? I saw some of the things you had worked on and i THOUGHT I saw your big project was finished? I might be confused, it happens often Laughing

Also as a general question - How is everyone? And I hope everyone has had lots of stitching time or at least have a relaxing weekend coming up Wink

Cheers everyone! Razz

I thought I had seen that one completed. I couldn't remember what you working on currently (memory good on occasion, but not always!)

How's it looking? The Young Botanist looks like ti would pretty complicated to my eyes on this screen (lots of confetti?). Hard to tell because my laptop has a not so great graphics card and sometimes itll just put random colors somewhere Shocked My favorite was going to a website that I knew had a red background and it was black and purple, yeah that was pretty amazing, since the words blended into the background!

I understand about not keeping updated. I do that all the time. My mom asked me to send her pictures of the project Im working on for Grandma (her mom), and I STILL Haven't done it. Maybe I should just do that now Laughing

Thanks for checking out my updates - some day, I hope my kids look back at them and see how well I diverted my attentions from killing them into something positive Smile Smile Smile Evil or Very Mad

My favorite right now??? Gee, it's hard to say - since I finished MTM, it's hard to pick one to stand out amongst the things I currently have going. I love my L&U, but feel guilty because I don't always have the necessary brain power to give it the time and attention it needs. The counted canvas Starry Nights is probably tied with my newest start, Iris Fairy, for being my favorite colors (purple Smile ). But really, I can't pick a current "favorite" out of the list of 20 I have going - OR my favorite will be the next one I am compelled to start!

In life in general, I have a graduation coming up in a few weeks - if I can survive that (including my mother being in the same house with me for DAYS), then I hope the summer is relatively stress-free Smile I have a LOT of stuff I need to do between now and May 20th or so - and yet, I only want to stitch... Question

Your favorite is always the one you have in hand eh? Razz

Family and I are getting ready to go on vacation to visit his parents for just about a month. its not so bad, but it is in a way. Parents in law and all that Laughing

I wish I could stitch more. I have more time in the day right now, with the kiddoes on a schedule, but I still have to observe them so I get a couple breaks here and there (you know a minute to type real fast, then check on em again). Thats why this post is taking 15 to write haha. Hopefully we both find the time to stitch Smile

Have a most awesome day,and hopefully the spring season isnt too brutal for you. Weve had some weather issues here, and I don't know exactly where in GA you are but the storms look like they're moving across the entire state (same up here!).

I will pray that the stitching goes rapidly and the threads do not twist! Laughing

Hello Ladies - May I join the thread?

Brand new to SQ and I'm still amazed at the breadth and depth of the resources available here!

I ordered two charts and they arrived TODAY. I admit freely - my work day screeched to a halt. Of the two I chose to begin with "A Young Hare" by Albrecht Durer and spent the rest of the afternoon prepping - color gridding the chart and fabric, sorting floss and making lists - ah, contentment! This is the first time I'm doing a piece as complex as those on SQ and I'm very excited.

Is anyone out there also starting a new project? This is my second current project, my active one is a blending of three different charts by Rosewood Manor to create a long tapestry-type hanging.

I love that so many of you have created websites and blogs for your stitching and I'm going to do the same.

Enjoy your weekends!!

Welcome to the forum, Karen D - from Karen R Smile

Do NOT say the "s" word - I haven't had a new start for 2-3 whole weeks!!!! Cool

As for your new projects - well done!! Enjoy them! They take a good bit of time, but are well worth the effort! I would love to see your RM piece, so if you get a blog up, be sure to give us a link Smile

Hi!!!!

Im still new to cross stitching in general so I come here and get tips and drool over patterns. They are absolutely gorgeous art, and DH says its such a boring hobby Rolling Eyes

I would love to see your work as well if you get a blog up!

Rife, is multiply free? I should start putting pictures of my inexperience up for every one to laugh at! Laughing Wink

Alls I have is facebook and its not the best medium to show people outside of my friend list.

I should be starting a new Easter project in the next week or so for the in laws. Its just a sampler, but itll be my first attempt with beads! Moving up in the cross stich world.

I had another question for you Rife/Anyone else who has input - when you order stitching supplies online, which site do you use? Doesn't matter which site I use, shipping is slow to the boonies Laughing
