Cross Stitch Patterns from Fine Art by Scarlet Quince

Scarlet Quince News
October 2009

Hello stitching friends,

The Online Needlework Show begins soon -- Wednesday to be exact. The dates are October 7-12. We're introducing a lovely vintage Christmas pattern at the show -- don't miss it!
More Tutorials
We've added a couple more tutorials: one on how to tie a basic knot (not that you should tie a knot most of the time, but sometimes you have to), and one on understanding the floss color to symbol cross-reference in our patterns. That was covered in a newsletter last year, and while the newsletter is on the website, it seems that most people can't find it. We hope that having it in the tutorials list will make it easy to find. We've also added printer-friendly versions of all the tutorials. Kudos to whoever suggested putting them into PDF form!
Thank you to Rose W. for suggesting Miranda - John William Waterhouse, shown below. We've sent her a copy of the pattern as a thank-you. We had several more suggestions for it just recently, all within the space of a few days. It seems odd that these clusters occur, although people who are good at statistics say it's not funny, it's inevitable, but it still surprises us.

We've also had lots of additions to the gallery, including several new finished pieces. Be sure to have a look!
