Dear stitching friends,

Happy New Year! Announcing our January White Sale! What's a cross stitch white sale? Many of our patterns have unstitched (white) backgrounds. All of these patterns are 1/3 off the regular price, now through the end of January! What if the background isn't white? Patterns designed with ecru or black backgrounds are 1/3 off too. You'll find botanical prints, portraits, Renaissance roundels, Art Nouveau, great still lifes, and more! Just look for the specially marked patterns and save!

LaVonne Morris, of Phoenix, Arizona, is our latest winner of a free pattern for a suggestion we used, Girl With a Watering Can - Pierre Auguste Renoir. She tells us, "I chose the Renoir piece because the girl in the painting looks a LOT like I did as a child."

We've updated our gallery with pictures sent to us by Bob Miller, of Marion, Iowa. He's working on Hollyhocks and Other Flowers in a Vase - Jan Van Huysum.

He also passed along a very clever tip: he is using a scroll frame suspended by a cord from the ceiling to help support the weight. Wrestling a large scroll frame can be quite awkward - this should make it much easier. If you aren't ready to invest in a stand for your frame, try this idea.

If you'd like to share your Scarlet Quince work in progress with us, send us pictures! Instructions can be found in the gallery.
