Dear stitching friends,
Last month we introduced our "tips" section. Thanks so much to everyone who read and commented on it, and an especially big thank you to those who sent their own tips for inclusion. We are in the process of incorporating them. To make the updates easier to find, we are dating the sections and subsections when they are added or revised. If your idea hasn't appeared there yet -- please give us a little more time. It is our intention to include all the tips and techniques you send us. Even if your special idea is one we might not use personally, if it works for you, it will appeal to someone out there! So please keep sending your tips.

We have a pattern award this month, for Susan Furnish of Portland, Oregon, who suggested The Swing - Jean-Honore Fragonard. She received a large-print version of the pattern for being the first to suggest this picture. It's shown below - we're sure you'll recognize this famous painting!

We have more gallery updates too! There is a new and beautifully framed example of Hollyhocks and Other Flowers in a Vase and more progress on Lady with Unicorn: Sense of Hearing. Notice that Ms. Holmes is marking the 10 x 10 squares on her fabric in pencil. So much faster than basting, and she says the marks gradually rub away and it doesn't seem to transfer to the floss.
