The legend of Scarlet Quince continues to grow!     Reply with quote

I thought this was too funny not to share -- today I got an invitation to the Quince family reunion to be held later this year in Australia, or at least to send family pictures and info to share with the relatives. Not that I mean to make fun of these folks -- I could be their long-lost aunty (but I'm not). It's just that I am already under a certain amount of pressure to invent a bio for Scarlet Quince and this kind of thing doesn't help. I did manage to refrain from emailing back that our branch of the family springs from a pampered southern belle, the first Scarlet Quince, who shot a man in Memphis and had to flee to Texas, where she fought on the wrong side at the Alamo, then went on to found the biggest Mexican jumping bean plantation north of the Rio Grande. But if I hear from any more of these folks, there's no telling what I might do. Laughing

Oh Meredith, if you fleshed out that bio on the "first Scarlet Quince who shot a man in Memphis" you could pen a best seller that would give "Gone With The Wind" a true run for it's money. And yes, that is all too funny!
