I have a birth sampler pattern which shows some pretty little pink baby feet and I would like to stitch this for a friend who's having a baby in February (still a little time to figure this out). The only problem with this idea is that my friend (and her husband) are black. It can therefore be expected that their baby is not going to have rosy pink feet! So, is it possible to convert the floss colours to reflect black skin tones? The pattern uses the 5 DMC flesh colours (very dark through very pale) plus cream and white, and is designed to be sewn on cream-coloured fabric.
Does anybody have any experience in this sort of thing?
