Stitched by Irina Lapko on 26-count canvas with 2 threads and half cross stitch

May 25, 2015 “I would like to share my new embroidery The Torn Hat. I had this early 19th c French frame and wanted to use for the embroidery. So to fit it in I had to embroider on 26-count canvas using half cross stitch and two threads. The size of my embroidery is about 7.5" x 9". I spent two month and three days working on it almost every day. I think this portrait and the frame is a perfect match as they belong to the same period of time.”

Stitched by Larry Pocock, Titusville, Florida

November 20, 2009 “An update on Thomas Sully's The Torn Hat. It's been 3 and a half months and half way finished. I made the floor stand and can't imagine working without one.”
