The Old Cupboard Door - William Michael Harnett HAR005 pattern info
Elodium, Burgundy, France
18-count aida
December 13, 2014 “I attach a photo of "The Old Cupboard Door" - I have finished the first two pages -- just 54 to go [large print]! A long-term project, though I try to do an hour a day, at this pace, it’s going to take a long time, but the rendition of every detail is so great! All the subtle colour changes, the shadows, it’s amazing!”

January 28, 2018 “I have just finished another ‘line’ in Harnett's The Old Cupboard Door. I have started the statuette and finished the small tambourine. I reckon it should be finished entirely in a couple of years…As the end is getting nearer (gasp!), I am thinking of the next project, of course! It is going to be a wonderful piece.”

August 18, 2020 “Great news, I have finished "The Old Cupboard Door". I must say I have been greatly helped by the lockdown in France between mid-March and mid-May. I had to stop all my other activities, and so spent long evenings happily stitching away. Still needs to be cleaned, framed, etc, nevertheless, I thought it was worth sending you a photo or two! I started in October 2014, so I've been slow, but more or less regular – I was slightly quicker at the beginning, carried away by my enthusiasm, I guess, and not as quick in the last third, but never bored.”
