Horse, Lascaux Caves UNK013 pattern info
A stitcher in Connecticut
14-count taupe aida
“Here is my work on the Lascaux Caves horse. I have been working on it on and off for over a year. You can see my progress looks haphazard. I try to do as many stitches in one color as possible all over the picture. I have basted a red thread every 10 stitches around the edges to help in the counting and I do use the suggestion of using sticky notes on the patter to mark my place. I am using 14 count taupe Aida because it was available and it could look rock-like.”
“I put a grid on this a few months ago and that seems to make it a bit easier, that and the fact that I am getting down to fewer empty spaces. Looking forward to getting it framed and on the wall by Christmas.” Notice the numbers at the edges of the grid — if you also number the squares on the pattern, this could be a big help to finding your place. — SQ
September 20, 2009 “Well, finally, after 4 1/2 years (maybe it only seems like it) it's done even if it wasn't done by last Christmas. When it will be framed is another question. Sending two photos, one when the grid was still on it and one after.”
