Migrant Mother - Dorothea Lange

Counted Cross Stitch Pattern

A destitute migrant worker with two of her seven hungry children. A photographer for the Farm Security Administration, Lange used her photos to bring the plight of migrant workers and sharecroppers to public attention. The California pea crop had failed so there was no work, and this woman, Florence Owens Thompson, had just sold her tent to buy food. (1936)
