Venus, opposed to the marriage of her son Cupid to the beautiful Psyche, sets Psyche many impossible tasks before she will give her consent. One is to collect a box of beauty from the queen of the underworld, Proserpina. With help, Psyche leaves Hades with the filled box, but can't resist opening it to add a bit to her own beauty.
