Cross Stitch Patterns from Fine Art by Scarlet Quince

Scarlet Quince News
December 2010

Hello stitching friends,

We've been busy adding pictures to the gallery! (and we're all caught up, so if you've sent us a picture it's there now). If you haven't visited in a while, be sure to look at the latest progress pictures.

One of our new patterns this month was a suggestion by Jen in Sydney, Australia -- The Fighting Temeraire Tugged to her Last Berth to be Broken Up - J. M. W. Turner (shown below). We've sent her a copy of the pattern as a thank-you for her suggestion, and we'll say it again here: Thank you, Jen!

Do you have an idea for a pattern? Read how to make a suggestion!

New Tutorial

We've added a tutorial on signing your cross stitch! It explains why you should sign and date your work, how to plan your text in either backstitch or cross stitch, choosing a floss color, and shows examples of different types of signatures. You can follow the link above, or look for Tutorials under the Solutions tab on our website.

There are a few related topics we'll be addressing in the weeks to come: how to backstitch, resources for needlework alphabets, and how to create your own!

We wish you all a very joyful and peaceful holiday season, and a happy new year!
