Scarlet Quince News
October 2011

Hello stitching friends,

We had 2.18 inches of rain earlier this week! Yay! The umbrella patterns have done their job. Thank you for putting up with them. And thanks to everyone who offered to send us their floodwaters! We are now at about 6 inches for the year.

New Tutorial

The gridding tutorial is finished! You can find it by going to Solutions -> Tutorials -> Preparation or just click the link! It turned out that we had a lot to say about Easy-Count Guideline, too much to include in the tutorial, so it's written up in Ramblings. Be sure to read the comments also, for a couple of stitchers' experiences with it and fishing line.

Pattern Award

Betsy Smullen of Gold Hill, Oregon suggested New Moon - Maxfield Parrish (shown below). We've sent her a copy as a thank-you for the suggestion. The Crystal Ball - John William Waterhouse was suggested by 11 people, so we're sure we'll have a pattern award there. The first person who suggested it has two weeks to respond to our email and claim her pattern before we go on to #2.

The Online Needlework Show

The Online Needlework Show starts very soon! It just crept up on us! The dates are October 20-25. As always, this is a wholesale show (only needlework shops can buy) but it is open to public viewing (and this time, the public viewing will not be cut off early). This is a great opportunity check on what's new from your favorite designers, and maybe find new favorites!
