Happy belated holidays to you all! I expected to get this newsletter out around the middle of the month, and I don't really know what happened. We have been having a bathroom remodeled, and it all finished up around that time, so it was very hectic with painting, plumbing, mirror installations, etc. etc. etc. It has been going on since mid October, and I was in my right mind until almost the end. So I hope you had a lovely Christmas, Hanukkah, or whatever!

We have a couple of pattern awards from patterns introduced in last month's newsletter! Nora Netherlin from Arizona suggested The Tambourine Girl - John William Godward. And The Seamstress - William Bouguereau is courtesy of Avril in Canada. Both ladies have been sent copies of the patterns. The remaining Four Freedoms (shown below) were also by suggestion, but we have not been able to reach the people who suggested them; ditto with La Donna Velata. We're still working on the award for Santa at the Map. (These were all suggested a long time ago, and it's hard to remember who all you've given your email address to.)

We had a recent question on Facebook about whether our Rockwell patterns were licensed since there are so many pirated patterns out there. So, just so you know, we do always license the art we use that is under copyright, and if we can't get a license, we don't use the art. Which has led to some major disappointments for me as well as some of you. But the copyright holder always has the right to decide who can use the art, and that's our policy. (Sometimes it's a little hard to know if a piece is in the public domain or not, but we do our best. And you don't have to worry about that -- if you'd like to suggest an artwork, please go ahead, and we'll figure out if we need a license or not.)
