Still Life Of Flowers In A Basket by an Alabaster Urn on a Marble Pedestal - Gerard Van Spaendonck

An elaborate arrangement of flowers spilling out of a shallow basket resting on a carved table. Next to the flowers is a small marble column carved with Greek figures which is being used as a pedestal for an alabaster urn which has mermaid figures as handles. The bouquet includes roses, peonies, poppies, delphiniums, hibiscus, morning glories, primroses, columbines, and other flowers. There are also a couple of butterlies and other insects flitting about it. (1787)
