A maiden wearing a pale yellow kirtle over a long-sleeved white shift is seated on a castle's battlements to catch the last light of day for her sewing, a flag with a black emblem on an orange ground. A band about her forehead keeps her long black hair in order. Behind her a tower can be seen, and below is a road and some trees dimly seen in the twilight. (Pre-Raphaelite, 1911)
