The Swing - Jean-Honore Fragonard

Counted Cross Stitch Pattern

A saucy girl on a swing hung from a large tree in a garden. She is wearing a pink gown and hat and her skirt is flying up to her knees. A young man crouched behind a bush is looking up her dress and laughing, as she kicks her shoe at him. The swing is being pulled by a priest who seems to be enjoying the situation, and even the statues appear to be studying the action. See FRA002-D for a chart of a portion of this painting. (Rococo, 1765)
