He is dressed in a red jacket, a striped muffler, black cap, tan corduroy knickerbockers, and gray wool gaiters. He is heading away from a house partially hidden by the snowy hilltop, so perhaps he plans to set up a Christmas tree for the birds and animals. (About 1880)
