A cross section of a farm house where a noon meal is being served to workers. On the left is a red barn with two horses drinking from a trough and some chickens. A boy is carrying a pail of water and on the porch two men clean up for lunch. Inside are the threshers wearing overalls and seated at a long table. Two women are serving them dinner, and farther right is the kitchen with pump and cast-iron stove. Two more women are dishing up the meal as a cat waits its turn. Through the screen door another outbuilding can be seen. (American Regionalism, 1934)
