Pierre-Joseph Redoute
Rosa centifolia Anglica rubra
A botanical print of a deep pink rose in full bloom. Clustered about it are several other buds, some beginning to open, and the thorny reddish stem holds one large compound leaf. From Redoute's Les Roses, about 1817. The background is not stitched. White fabric is recommended.
Rosa Eglanteria var punicea
A botanical print of a glossy single-flowered orange-red rose. The petals are orange beneath, making the buds orange also. The leaves have seven small dark green leaflets, and the stem has just a few thorns. An example of a mature rose hip is shown in one corner. The background is not stitched. White fabric is recommended.
Gentiana acaulis
A botanical print of a stemless gentian, native to the mountains of Europe. The flowers are deep blue, with spotted stripes inside, and the leaves are smooth. A small butterfly is hovering above the flowers. The background is not stitched. White fabric is recommended.
Tulipa Gesneriana
A botanical print of dull rose, yellow, and red-orange variegated tulips, from Redoute's Le Choix des Plus Belles Fleurs (A Selection of the Most Beautiful Flowers). The background is not stitched. Ecru fabric is recommended. (About 1830)
Rosa eglanteria
A botanical print of a glossy yellow single-flowered rose with dark gray-green leaves from Redoute's Les Roses. The background is not stitched. White fabric is recommended. (1817)
Rosa Indica Cruenta
A botanical print of a bright red rose in full bloom from Redoute's Les Roses. The leaves are deep green and smooth-surfaced, with grayish backs, and there are only a few thorns. The background is not stitched. White fabric is recommended.
Hemerocallis Flava
A botanical print of Hemerocallis flava, the yellow daylily or lemon lily, from Redoute's Les Liliacees. It grows wild in much of the world. Each flower opens in the morning and lasts a single day, then drops off if it has not set seed. Here are three open flowers, buds in various stages, a seed pod, and a couple of blunt stem ends where the old flowers have fallen. The background is not stitched. Ecru fabric is recommended. (About 1805-1816)
Rosa Campanulata alba
A botanical print of a branch of beautiful white roses and buds from Redoute's Les Roses. The leaves are medium green and veined, and the stems have large thorns below and are covered with smaller prickles above. The background is not stitched. White fabric is recommended. (1817)
Cypripedium sp.
A botanical print of a Lady's slipper flower. The pouches (slippers) are yellow and the sepals are brown with yellow at their bases. The leaves are deep green, glossy, and ribbed. The background is not stitched. White fabric is recommended. (About 1817)
Viola tricolor
A botanical print of a Viola tricolor. A common European wildflower, it has many nicknames such as heartsease, heart's ease, heart's delight, tickle-my-fancy, Jack-jump-up-and-kiss-me, come-and-cuddle-me, three faces in a hood, or love-in-idleness.
There's pansies, that's for thoughts. -- "Hamlet", William Shakespeare
The background is not stitched. White fabric is recommended. (About 1817)

Frederic Remington
Comanche Brave, Fort Reno, Indian Territory
A portrait of a Comanche Indian seated on a glossy brown and white pinto horse, near Fort Reno in what is now Oklahoma. He wears a red shirt, white breeches over green leggings, and beaded moccasins. He carries a rifle in a leather case on his saddle. The background is a simple grassy hillside and the sky. (1888)

Young Girls at the Piano
A young girl in a white dress with blue sash and blue hair ribbon picks out a tune on the piano. Her dark-haired friend in an orange dress leans on the chair and piano as she follows the music. The room is decorated in orange and green, and an ornate vase on the piano contains autumn flowers. We also offer a smaller version focused on the two girls. (Impressionist, 1892)

The room is decorated in orange and green. This detail of the full picture focusses on the two girls. We also offer the full picture. (Impressionist, 1892)
Young Woman with Cat
A young woman with red hair and wearing a white gown sits at a table watching her calico cat. The cat is standing on the table on her hind legs, with her front paws resting on the lip of a large green-glazed pot containing a small flowering tree, and the cat is peering at the flowers. (Impressionist, about 1880-82)
Luncheon of the Boating Party
Ladies and gentlemen on a river excursion have stopped for lunch at a riverside cafe. They are gathered on a patio with a red-and-white striped canopy surrounded by shrubs and weedy vegetation. Their heavy, formal attire contrasts with the simple light shirts of the boatmen who are sailing the boats for them. Some of the people are engrossed in conversation while others simply observe their companions. (Impressionist, 1881)
Jugglers at the Cirque Fernando
Two little girls in Victorian circus costumes take a bow after their juggling and gymnastics act. They are Francisca and Angelina Wartenberg, daughters of the circus owner. Their costumes, white with gold lace trim, white stockings, and gold boots, contrast with the dark clothing of the partially seen audience. (Impressionist, 1879)

She is wearing an off-white pinafore with big buttons and a white blouse with long puffed sleeves, and appears against a vague background of blue. The water is busy with rowboats, sailboats, and swimmers, and ripples catch glints of light. (Impressionist, 1869)
